First, as Hunter pointed out in an opinion piece she wrote for the Star this summer: “Too often legally purchased ammunition ends up in the wrong hands for the wrong reasons, causing death and mayhem in our communities.”

I bet no one in media thought to ask her where she got that info.

At the same time police are talking about 9mm being sold for $20 a round, handguns without ammunition being rented from criminals to criminals (ammunition available, but it costs extra and is charged per round), because the Firearms Act has made it impossible for criminals to get ammunition.

Do the border dogs smell it better than they can smell guns?

Well now wouldn't you think after hearing all the fear mongering these do good-er's have all the answers. Why hell they should get hired right away by the new US Space Force, and they can start planning on saving planet Earth from a speeding meteor, oh the glory!
OMG I just had a nasty vision of Ralph Goodale and Justin Trudeau in space tights... Is it Oct 17 yet?

The Ontario Liberals took such a shyte-kickin' by Doug Ford and the PC's that they don't even have "party status",so,they have to come up with some line of BS to get media attention, again, any way they can.

Ford should encourage the CFO's to allow more firearm shooting ranges in the GTA. Lots of deserted industrial sites (courtesy of Wynne & Co.) that would work nicely (with a little TLC).

Great idea. FAL! That way the gangbangers can get in some practice time. More practice = fewer misses = less collateral damage. That makes about as much sense or more than all the other crap currently being proposed. It also addresses the absolute fact that you cannot make all the guns just go away.

I thought the current problem with GTA ranges wasn't the CFO, whom I believe approves ranges if they meet the guidelines,
but rather the costs. There's that one just north of the GTA that's been a rumor for at least 5 years, little more than drawings.
Other ranges have talked about massive rebuilding projects, but haven't raised the funds to begin.

I think it's more of a municipal issue.

FOC has been trying to open a range in Ajax (just east of Toronto) for awhile. I'm don't know where they are in that process currently. They have the space and run some kind of virtual range with modified/deactivated firearms.

They seem willing to invest and there's certainly the demand.

The Ontario Liberals had 15 years to introduce an ammo ban and now expect the Ford government to do it for them? Hysterically funny.
