    Finally got my 42 Garand completed.

    It was in such bad condition, It cost almost as much to make it right as it did to buy it.

    "...cost almost as much to make it right as it did to buy it..." Pretty typical. Used to be that having one re-Parked was no big deal. Until The Chrétien Gang changed the law to make working on firearms a huge nuisance you could go to any metal finishing shop.

    Thanks!!! I'm about to start another project. I have a 5 digit SA from 1940. Almost have all the parts to start building. I managed to find an original long channel stock. Can hardly wait to get started on it.
