    Great hunt & memories

I had a great hunt on Sept 22 this year I called with this beautiful 7X7 for over 2 ” hours. He finely showed himself when his cows ended up on the other side of me. The shot was down a step bank with a custom made TCR 87 338/06. Made for me by a special friend of mine that passed away a few years ago (Cancer). It brings back fond memories when I use his barrels.
The elk took one step and fell over the shot had gone right though his hart. This is the first time I have had an elk drop over dead if you look at the grass he didn’t kick once.

That's so cool that you get to take your dog out with you.

I am so jealous, you get to bring the puppers and harvested the best tasting (IMO) big game animal there is. Love the pics.

Thanks for the complement. I used to hunt everything but as time crept up on me I have narrowed my hunting down. Elk is my favorite big game it is so majestic and when he calls back to you it still sends a shiver down my back (And you can’t beat elk meat) My other fav is upland birds this is my hunting partners favorite he doesn’t compline about my elk hunts or shooting. So, I make sure to tag along with hit on his bird hunts.
