Unusual rebuild that turned out great by EM Precision Rifle - CZ52/57

    Several months ago I bought a CZ52/57.

It was a Great price for a CZ52/57, only $600 shipped when they usually goes for 900-1100, so I snapped it up.

The Buyer misrepresented the condition of the rifle.
The one thing I can at-least say is that it is functional

The stock was stripped, painted with what seems like spray cans, then badly stripped again.
The front sling loop was cut, and filled over with some epoxy.
The butt plate had holes drilled into it (for no reason)
and the rear sling loop was removed (metal missing) and filled up with epoxy, which was drilled out by the previous owner but badly.
    The metal was horribly sanded.

Overall it was poorly taken care of and was a major redo to get it looking nice again.

    Before:

So, after speaking with Steve at EMP, he took on the job to refinish this rifle (poor bastard)

A new Stock was purchased and refinished via EMP
A new stock was ordered up from across the boarder and it arrived very blonde. So after a little discussion with a fellow rifle enthusiast he took on the stock work. Now the stock was ok but the fit and finish left a bit to be desired, heavy sanding marks and some kind of sealant on it that was a real pain to remove . After the new stock was cleaned up and all the sanding lines removed it got a rubbed stain treatment and then a bunch of tru oil to level it out and protect it . The tiger stripes really show well and set the stock off from the plain grain of the butchered factory stock .

    Metal was retreated via EMP
The metal treatment is a custom mix cerakote that will be really close to the original coating in colour but way tougher .

    AFTER

overall the end product looks like a new rifle compared to what it was prior.

Thank you Steve and EM Precision Rifles.

Again a different build for them since they work on Precision Rifles, but they did a fantastic job.

    Wow nice job Steve.
The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money.
There is no place in an anti's head where reason can enter. from a Napoleon saying with a tweak.
Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because that’s the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"
